ABOUT Frankenfrills Apparel creates upcycled children's clothing that encourages REUSING, REDEFINING, AND RADIATING. 100% of proceeds of this earth-friendly gear support Children's CommUNITY. We hope to weave inclusive stories into the fabric of our clothing as well as the fabric of our communities. OUR STORY Frankenfrills Apparel was created by Rachel Bjarnason and Monica Koller to encourage kids to express what they love. With a vision to offer clothing that challenges gender norms, features diverse images, and encourage reusing resources, these moms enjoy creating one-of-a-kind pieces of wearable art. First sold at the Sunnyland Stomp in WA, these garments are funky and fun, encouraging little ones to make meaningful fashion statements.
CHANGING THE NARRATIVE Girls are princesses. Boys love monster trucks. That is the message that children are being given in books, clothing, and media. Why not explore other possibilities? The concept of changing the dominant narrative involves telling stories of a different kind: girls exploring space, boys being nurturing, and heroes of various races & ethnicities. Frankenfrills Apparel seeks to give youngsters an opportunity to tell those stories through the clothing they wear.
Children's CommUNITY and Frankenfrills Apparel are aiming to encourage families to read inclusive stories AND wear fun, inclusive clothing. Looking for a thoughtful gift? Look no further!
